Verbal creativity really is one of the supporting factors of academic achievement. But it also must be supported by a flexible teaching system and emphasize the development of thinking skills and student participants did not demand the truth of an answer that pegged to the theory. Efforts to increase academic achievement by providing teachers with the knowledge and ways of problem solving, it should also interspersed with the evaluation of learning is to provide opportunities for students to question, argue, and answered questions in their own way. According to Torrance, 1963 (in Sholeh, 1988:197) that although the creative abilities that can be raised but many teachers in primary and secondary schools largely do not associate this creativity in the development of objectives, activities, tasks, and evaluation procedures. Yet creativity is a potential that needs to be developed as one of the main capital to support and supports academic achievement, especially in accelerated students who have a high intellectual level so that students can perform optimally in accordance potentiality. For the purposes of this study was to determine the influence of verbal creativity of student academic performance in acceleration and menetahui verbal aspects of creativity that gives the biggest contribution in supporting the academic achievement of students. This research uses total sampling (total sample), so that the total population equals the number of samples, ie acceleration of class VII students of SMP Negeri 1 Malang numbering 24 people, and accelerated students of SMP Negeri 5 Malang numbering 17 people. The data was collected using Verbal Creativity Test by looking at classical and academic achievement through students' report cards. From data analysis to obtain the regression coefficient (F) = 6740 a value of significance (P) = 0013, indicating that there is significant influence between verbal creativity with academic achievement. This means that between verbal creativity and academic achievement is a significant correlation, so the level of creativity can be used to predict (as predictor) academic achievement.
