Abstract

Abilities emphasized in learning mathematics are the ability in problem solving, developing thinking manner and reasoning also communicating mathematical ideas toward variety of scientific and technological context. Therefore, it should implement study strategy using models and techniques which stimulate students to learn independently, creative and more active in following learning activity. Study carry the title IMPROVE Model with Inquiry Technique within Mathematics Learning in Statistics & Opportunity for Students Grade XI Bahasa SMA Negeri 2 Batu. The objective of this study is to found out how the activities implemented does and what is the student’s report. This paper belongs to qualitative descriptive study. Subject within this study is students grade XI Bahasa SMA Negeri 2 Batu. Variables in this study are activity and student’s report. Instrument used in this study is observation sheet and results of student’s tests. Data analysis in this study is percentage analysis in order to measuring activities and student’s report. Result of this study has revealed that student’s activity level is medium with 56,15%. However irrelevant activity percentage reaching 27,08%. Meanwhile for student’s completion task analysis after implementing IMPROVE model using inquiry technique in mathematical learning has resulting 29 students categorized as having complete learning and 2 students categorized as having incomplete learning. Classical learning individual of completion task is above SKBM for 93,55% and for learning completion has categorized excellent with 94,129% percentile.
