Abstract

This study aims to develop problem-based mathematics learning tools that are oriented to valid, practical and effective high-level thinking skills. The research development model uses 4D Define, Design, Development dan Dissemination. The trial device developed was carried out at MTs Islamiyah Kebomlati Plumpang Tuban with a class 8b research subject. Researchers limit the spread of the development of this device in one school in different classes. The instruments in this study were 1) the validation sheet of the lesson plan, worksheets and the assessment sheet for student learning outcomes; 2) student response questionnaire sheets; 3) learning achievement sheet. The data analysis technique was carried out with validity test, practicality test, and device effectiveness test. This research produces problem-based learning tools oriented with high-level thinking skills in grade 8 junior high school students on the material of flat side spaces. Based on the results of the validation of the devices developed the average scores are as follows; 1) RPP get an average score of 4.41; 2) LKS get an average score of 4.25; and 3) the test results of student learning get an average score of 4.31, all three have met the validity criteria with very good quality. Based on the evaluation results of the delay in learning, the average score is 85.71%, and has met the validity criteria with very good quality. While the student response questionnaire received a score of 4.21, the results showed that the device was developed effectively, in addition to student learning outcomes by achieving 90.9% of students completing questions about student learning outcomes oriented to higher-order thinking thinking with positive student activities during learning on average reaches 83.11% of students enthusiastic and active during the learning process. Therefore, this learning tool is suitable to be used as a source of learning mathematics by fulfilling excellent aspects of validity, practicality and effectiveness.
