Abstract

The purpose of this research is to know: (1) Compensation and job satisfaction, (2) The effect of financial compensation on employee satisfaction, (3) The effect of non-financial compensation on employee work satisfaction. This research is a descriptive study. The object in this study was PT. Kereta Api DAOP 8 Surabaya, with the employee of the line assessment as a respondent. The research respondent is the employee of the road assessment with a population of 95 people. Sampling techniques in this study are random sampling clusters. Samples amounted to 30 people taken from several UPT resort roads and bridges. Data is collected using a questionnaire whose validity and reliability has been tested. The data analysis techniques used are scale ranges and multiple linear regression. The results of a regression analysis at a level of significance of 5% indicate that: (1) financial compensation does not affect partial employee work satisfaction. (2) Non-financial compensation has no partial effect on employee satisfaction (3) financial and non-financial compensation does not have a simultaneous influence on employee satisfaction. The scale results show that employees agree with financial compensation and job satisfaction but do not agree with non-financial compensation in the company. Researchers suggest that companies pay more attention to employee’s non-financial compensation.
