Abstract

Premenstrual syndrome is the symptoms of physical or psychological that is felt by the women during one or two weeks before menstruation. In Indonesia at least 50% of women are or may be more experiencing these symptoms. Some women can not distinguish between PMS and dismenorea, and they also assume the symptoms of PMS is a normal thing that must be lived by women and these symptoms will gradually abate by itself. In addition there is research that says that there is a significant relationship between pms and neuroticism. Therefore, researchers wanted to know how the personality profile of young women who experience premenstrual syndrome. This research is a qualitative research. This research using interview and Eysenck Personality Inventory test. The subject of this research is 19 people. Method validity of the data used in this study is the triangulation of sources Results from this study indicate that adolescents who experience premenstrual syndrome is a person who needs a caring friend, it's hard to deny something, easy mood changes, difficulty speaking with new people he knew, irritability, easily excited but also easy to become lethargic, often imagining, it's easy to feel guilty, people who stiff and easily strained, thinking is often so difficult to sleep, often worry if something bad will happen, often felt shaking and heart pounding, often feel aches and pains, feel inferior and often feel worried about health. The symptoms experienced by the subject of physical traits: feeling powerful, lower abdominal pain, back pain, changes in appetite and psychological characteristics: irritability, decreased ability to concentrate, irritability, rapid restless, anxious and reduced ability to recall. Impacts experienced by the subjects, namely: abandoned homework, do not go to school, lazy teachers doing a given task or job at home argument with friends, shunned friends, less can receive a good lesson, not a class or leaving class sports , fighting to throw things goods, enmity with friends, and scolded the parents (father) for not doing housework.
