Abstract

The reality in the learning process, students simply memorize concepts and less able to use these concepts when they have problems. Therefore, it takes a learning model which allows students to improve creativity in order to improve student learning outcomes. One learning model offered is Problem-Based Instruction (PBI). In addition, the need for good instructional media for learning may vary due to age of child up to junior high school students are still operational to the concrete. Instructional media in question is the media card. The purpose of this study is to investigate student attitudes towards learning through PBI using the media card, find out students' creativity in PBI using the media card, and know the student learning outcomes through the PBI using the media card on the material equation. The subjects in this study were students in grade VIIB SMP Muhammadiyah 1 Giri, amounting to 21 people. The study was a kind of classroom action research. Each cycle consists of four stages of planning, execution, observation, and reflection. Based on the data to be examined, then the technique of data collection is needed is a test, questionnaire, and observation. The results showed that the attitude of students has increased from 76.06% to 76.76% for positive statements, while experiencing a decrease from 69.14% to 51.81% for negative statements. Traffic creativity of students based on divergent thinking in one class have an average of 71.93% which is fair. The level of individual creativity of students in divergent thinking ability test II, 11 students obtained a percentage of 85% Based on the explanation above, it can be concluded that pembelajran by using PBI is one model that can improve the quality of learning and learning with the aim of improving student learning outcomes.
