Nayla Novel is the first novel written by Djenar Maesa Ayu with sexuality, household violence, and sexual abuse theme. Household violence in Nayla novel was done by the mother to her daughter, when mother figure punished Nayla. The abuse brought effect to Nayla personality. Mother’s behavior which was confronted society’s norms showed to Nayla. It gave negative education for Nayla personality development. Nayla became a rebel because of pressure and punishment gave by mother. According to above background, the problems discussed in the thesis were: (1) how were the form of prominent figure’s emotionality in Nayla Novel written by Djenar Maesa Ayu? (2) What were the form of prominent figure’s main activity in Nayla Novel written by Djenar Maesa Ayu? (3) What were secondary functions of Nayla Prominent figure’s in Nayla Novel written by Djenar Maesa Ayu? Research design used in this research was qualitative descriptive by using Heymans typhology theory. Data in this research was written information explanation from dialogue, monologue, and naration in Nayla Novel related with research’s problem. Instrument used in the research was the researcher itself. Nayla Novel by Djenar Maesa Ayu was published by Gramedia Pustaka and data collection instrument: (1) emotionality; (2) secondary function/guiding process; (3) activity. Data collection was done through textual discussion by text analysis consisted of dialogue, monologue, and naration fitted with research’s problem. Data analysis was done by re-reading, categorizing, and interpreting according to theory in research problem. According to data analysis done, there found three conclusion that Nayla prominent figure had characters stated in three psychological qualities. They were: (1) emotionality: easy to get tempered, laugh often, no deep attention, stay in her decision, hate to tolerate, honest in law limit, didn’t want to get power; (2) guiding process/secondary function: calm, not easy to give up, love to help, got memory, free thinking, consequent, not calm, egoistic; and (3) activities: happy, avoid obstacle, wide insight, maintain relation when quarrel, lost hope often, everything seen as heavy problem, libido, hard to open her heart.
