Abstract

The advancement of science and technology not only brings convenience, happiness, and pleasure but also raises a number of problems. One of the problems is the circulation of various processed foods from various basic ingredients that are traded in restaurants so that the halal must be questioned. The development of this restaurant also occurs because the development of tourism in the city of Malang is very rapid so that in total, tourist arrivals in 2017 reached 15.2 million. This is what causes micro, small and medium businesses to also increase and a lot of fields in the focus are culinary business. On the other hand, the development of the digital world itself facilitates the development of various Islamic-themed applications, one of which is the Muslim Pro application. This application can make it easier for people to find halal restaurants because the application has a feature to designate halal places. The problem now is whether the restaurants registered in the Muslim pro application have implemented halal standards according to MUI provisions ?. Therefore the authors aim to find out the extent of the application of halal standards in the registered restaurant. The research method used in this research is a descriptive qualitative research approach. The study was conducted at Resto Mie Gang Jangkrik, Bebek Letter RMJ, and Motiv Coffe Company. Data collected in the form of primary and secondary data. Data collection techniques through interviews, direct observation, and documentation. In this study the authors used 5 halal criteria as a measuring indicator, namely halal essence, how to obtain it halal, halal in the process, halal in storage, halal in transportation and presentation. The results of this research can be concluded that the restaurants registered in the Muslim Pro application are still not fully halal, there is only 1 restaurant that has met the 5 halal criteria mentioned above, namely the Motivation Company while 2 other restaurants still do not meet the 5 halal criteria. It is recommended for consumers who want to search for halal restaurants through recommending any Islamic-themed application to first ask the restaurant owner regarding halal certificate ownership or can see around the restaurant whether there is a MUI halal label or not
