Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of the use of chlorine on the decapsulation process for hatching the Artemia sp. and to find out the optimal dose of chlorine in the decapsulation process for hatching the Artemia sp. in P1: Non-Decapsulation (Control), P2: 0.25 gram chlorine / gram cyste, P3: 0.5 gram chlorine / gram cyste, and P4: 0.75 gram chlorine / gram cyste. This study used a Completely Randomized Design (CRD) consisting of 4 treatments with 3 replications. The main parameters observed were Hatching Percentage (%) which showed the results of P1 = 36,24 %, P2 = 50,13 %, P3 = 48,72 %, and P4 = 46,02 %. Then these results were tested on ANOVA and the Least Significant Difference (LSD) test which showed the results of the study of the use of chlorine with different doses very significantly affected the level of 1 % on the hatching of Artemia sp. It can be concluded that the treatment that goes through the decapsulation process is better than the treatment without going through the decapsulation process because the highest yield is in P2 = 50,13 % while the lowest yield is in P1 = 36,24 %.
