Abstract

The use of various models of learning by teachers in SMP Negeri 27 Malang has been conducted, but it has not been able to improve the values (character and conservation) as well as the motivation of students, so the new learning model is needed as an alternative solution. The purpose of this research is to analyse the application of CBL (Conservation Based Learning) learning model and improve values (character and conservation) and student motivation. This class action study uses a qualitative descriptive approach, with samples totalling 30 class VII semsters odd years 2019, on energy material in the system of life, conducted over two cycles. Data retrieval for values (character and conservation) and student motivation using polls, structured interviews, live observations, and documentation. The Data (character and conservation) is seen from the descriptor that appears based on the standard character scoring achievement (PPK) of 2018, while student motivation data is analyzed by percentages and categorized; (Very high, high, medium, low, very low). The results of the study showed values (character and conservation), character values on cycle I (integrity, religious, independent, nationalism), Cycle II (integrity, religious, independent, nationalism, Gotong royong), conservation value on the I cycle ( Creativity, loyalty, inspirational, humanist, caring, creative), Cycle II (creativity, loyalty, inspirational, humanist, caring, creative, innovative, honesty), while for Motovasi students there is an increase of cycle I of 16.7% and in cycle II of 40% Categorized very highly. Based on the results of research can be concluded that CBL learning can improve values (character and conservation) and Motovasi students.
