Abstract

The process of crackers production in the home industry sea fish Crackers is still using the manual tools, so the speed of the cutting process depends on the operator. Work productivity problems become the main problem in this home industry because in every day the home industry is able to produce as much as 50 kg of dough with a process of cutting crackers that are still done using manual tools. Workers are required to complete the cutting process quickly in order to maximize the drying process. The production process relies heavily on natural factors because crackers must pass through the drying process before packing. This research aims to develop a more ergonomic tool design that can improve the productivity of work and minimize the risk of occurrence of MSDs. Research conducted in Home Industry crackers Sea fish, with a focus of research on the process of cutting crackers. The method used is the HAC approach. Quantitative analysis results using the JSI method showed a result of 27 which means a high risk of MSDs, while the HAC method analysis generates the engine dimensions with the engine length of 740 mm, the engine width is 640 mm, and the engine height is 670 mm. The productivity value of the use of the manual tool is 105 cut/minute while the use of tools development sebesar375 cut/minute.
