Abstract

PT. Magnum Attack Indonesia is one of the company enganged in the garment industry. This study aims to provide some solution to reduce waste in a production of t-shirt that occur in the company by using Waste Assesment Model method and VALSAT. Using WAM, the highest percentage of waste was identified it is Unnecessary Motion (24,23%), Waiting (19,41%) , Unecessary Inventory (19,26%), Defect (18,02%). After that continued to do some selection of mapping tools with VALSAT, which was chosen by the highest percentage and based on what kind of waste chosen PAM (501,46%), SCRM (228,37%), DAM (204,14%), QFM (183,51%). Furthermore, based on the biggest waste weight taken from pareto diagram, the researcher makes a proposed improvement based on the result of the FMEA analysis starting from the largest RPN 576, for making some tag racks of raw material with ABC classification, making a new layout designs, always carrying out inspections before proceeding to the next work station, providing as well as work hours and the exact rest hours to workers.
