Abstract

The needs of human equipment is greatly improved, so it needs better connection quality. Many new methods are found in addressing the problem of material connection related to the material that will be connected and one of them is connection with friction welding. Friction welding is widely used in various automobile industries i.e., connecting the body, the components of the joints and steering fields. And also makes it easy to connect two different materials. At the time of friction, friction pressure, forging time, forging pressure and rotation speed are the most important parameters in the method of friction welding. The Material is often used in the friction welding process, namely Aluminium. Aluminium is an easy-to-obtain material. The advantages of this Aluminium material is that it has a relatively mild weight with a density of 1/3 of the type weight of steel and on this test using Aluminium 6063. The free variable used is a variation in the swipe welding time for 40 seconds, 50 seconds, 60sec. For its main variables is tensile testing with the ASTM E8 standard. And for the control variable used is 1160 RPM constant rotary speed and 10 kg load, using Aluminium 6063, and 6063 Aluminium diameter of 19 mm. In aluminum 6063 have maximum tensile strength of 0.144789897 KN/mm2. Tensile test is a test where the workpiece is pulled vertically and gets the maximum tensile strength result. On the pull test obtained The tensile strength obtained at 40 seconds of 0.097948159 kn/mm2, the time of 50 second of 0.1027086631 kn/mm2, and a time of 60 seconds of 0.063406881 kn/mm2 .
