Abstract

Literature is a true picture or reflection of human’s life. It describes what and how human life usually happens in the society. This study attempts to choose one of the literary works namely film. The use of language in film establishes the connections to literature. Literature and film share the ability to employ the structures and devices of narrative. This study was conducted to analyze the strategies used by Louanne as an English teacher and to know the way how the implementation of the strategies. The design used in this study was descriptive qualitative research. The approach used in this study was objective approach because it does not need to study the author’s life. This study focuses on analyzing the kind and the implementing of teaching strategy used by Louanne. The object of this study is the “Dangerous Minds” film by John N. Reviewing of documents in collecting the data from many materials such as articles, internets, which are closely related to the topic was used to collect the data. The results of this study show that there are three kinds of teaching strategies used by Louanne namely; direct strategy, interactive strategy and experiential strategy. Furthermore, the way how Louanne implemented the teaching strategies are; Firstly, there are five steps in implemented the teaching strategy in direct instructional strategy. Secondly, there are four steps of the way how Louanne implemented interactive strategy. Thirdly, there are four steps of the way how Louanne implemented experiential strategy.
