Abstract

Spatial Concentration of Large and Medium Industries in Central Java Province; Mifta Aji Zakaria; 201510510311066; Sharia Economics Study Program, Faculty of Islamic Studies, University of Muhammadiyah Malang. Labor is one of the most important and most influential elements for managing and controlling the economic system. Labor absorption is influenced by the number of business units or medium and large industrial units. This study aims to determine the Spatial concentration of Large and Medium Industries at the Regency and City level in Central Java Province, and to find out whether the number of business units and wages affect the absorption of Large and Medium Industry workers in Central Java Province. This research uses a descriptive quantitative approach with data collection methods using secondary data obtained from the Central Statistics Agency of Central Java. The results of this study are the variable number of companies and wages significantly influence labor. The regions with very high industrial classification gather more in the northern central java region with 4 regions in 2014-2018 and 2 regions in the southern central java in 2014 and then reduced to 1 region in the southern central java in 2018. More and more companies and wages will increase the employment rate. It is expected that the government of Central Java Province will facilitate business licenses and increase the minimum wage for employment.
