Abstract

A country will be considered as good country if thah country has good,moral, and qualified human resource. To create a good and qualified human resource, education becomes basic and important thing to realize it. However, nowadays a crisis and degradation moral happens in Indonesia. Many students commit crimes and they do not act as a normal student that has a good attitude. In overcoming this problem, goverment ratifies the latest perpres on strengthening character building that has applied in the school environment that coukd be integrated into intracurricular,co-curricular, and extra curticular activities. This research used qualitative that using case study research. The methods used in this research were observation, interview, and documentation. The data obtained through observation were used to determine students’ activities in participating strengthening character building’s activity, while interview wes used to find out what character has been applied in school and the character in strengthening character building that is activity integrated into co-curricular activity and documentation was used to find out this related to research. The subject of this study was junior hogh school of Muhammadiyah 2 Batu. The collected data was analyzed using data analysis with interactive models. Checking the validity of the data was done through triangulation and member checking technique. The result of this research shown that the implementation of the program strengthening character student in junior high school of Muhammadiyah 2 Batu that was integrated into co-curricular has been implemented successfully and it was appropriate with the data. As for co-curricular activity in that school were student journey, short lecture, literation culture, and contextual education. Through this activities, it was proven that there were many character values that students got in addition to the mandatory character that were applied in school and they got more moral character that was expected by teachers because students were subjects who experienced character values directly.
