Abstract

This research is conducted to find the teachers problems in English for Young Learner program at University of Muhammadiyah Malang Especially in the third grade of English for Young Learner program at UMM. The researcher used a qualitative method to find the teachers’ problems in English for Yong Learners Program at University of Muhammadiyah Malang especially in the third grade. The techniques and instruments used by the researcher were observation and interview. In this research the researcher used participant observation as an instrument and a structured interview as the guide of the interview. The findings of this research show that there are six problems and solutions found by the teacher in English for Young Learner Program at University of Muhammadiyah Malang especially in the third grade. Those problems are passive students, difficulty in matching the media with the material, feeling nervous, forgetting some words, student’s crying and mispronouncing the word. The solutions were suggested to overcome those problems as doing physical activity, consultations, approaching the students, learn more about the material, communicate with the parents, and corrected by the advisor.
