Abstract

Idiomatic expression is an expression which has meaning distinct from the individual element. The words are often ill informed as the elements are not to be separated to form idiomatic meaning because an idiom is a full expression. For this reason, people cannot really comprehend its meaning unless they learn them as a whole unit. Idiomatic expressions also often found in the literary works such as book, novel, etc. In this sense, the researcher intends to conduct a study in order to classify idiomatic expressions based on Fillmore's typology.
