Abstract

This research examines the violation of the principle of cooperation in the speech of Indonesia Lawyers Club talk show on TV One. The violation of the principle of cooperation that occurs can be seen in the utterances made by the host and guest stars that show in the episode. The interesting thing about this research is the violation of the principle of cooperation carried out by the participants in the communication interaction in a discussion. The problems of this study include (1) forms of violations of the principle of cooperation found in conversations or dialogues in the Indonesia Lawyears Club talk show, (2) the purpose of violating the principle of cooperation in the Indonesia Lawyers Club talk show. The purposes of this research are to obtain a description of the violation of the principle of cooperation in the discussion of the Indonesia Lawyers Club program on TV One and describe the purpose of the violation of the principle of cooperation in the speech of the discussion of the Indonesia Lawyers Club program on TV One. This research was conducted with a qualitative approach, it means that this research produced a description of data, namely data in the form of violations and the purpose of violating the principle of cooperation. The data in this research were in the form of discussion conversations between the emcee and the speakers at the Indonesia Lawyers Club program on TV One. For data collection used proficient free listening technique and note-taking technique. The analytical method used by the contextual method. There were three stages in qualitative data analysis activities namely data reduction, data model, withdrawal or conclusion verification. The results of this research explain the form of violations of the principle of cooperation and the purpose of violating the principle of cooperation in the speech of interaction contained in the Indonesia Lawyers Club program on TV One. The form of violation of the principle of cooperation in the context of the interaction of the Indonesia Lawyers Club event in the form of maxim quantity of 27 violations, maxim of quality of 1 violation, maxim of relevance of 7 violations, and maxim of way 4 violations. The purposes of the speech in violating the principle of cooperation in the Indonesian Lawyers Club program are assertive, directive, expressive, commissive, and representative. The smallest purpose of speech is found in the purpose of commissive acts as much as 1 speech. Then, the purpose of the most speech at the purpose destination is 10 speech.
