Abstract
This Research type have the character of case study meaning that implication and conclusion of this research only applicable at PT Gudang Garam, Tbk. just with research title that is: “Analysis Determination Of Optimal Working Capital At PT Gudang Garam, Tbk”. Pursuant to formula above, hence intention of this research is to know the condition of working capital of PT Gudang Garam, Tbk. in the year 2008. Result of this research is expected can assist company as a means of consideration in decision making determine working capital. Pursuant to data analysis and research which have been hence can know that working capital of PT Gudang Garam, Tbk. not yet is optimal, the condition result natural company of excess so that in company there are a number of out of job fund. Result of calculation show in the year 2003 optimal working capital equal to Rp 12.990.209,63 bigger than real working capital equal to Rp 11.923.663, in the year 2004 optimal working capital equal to Rp 12.423.672,5 smaller than real capital equal to Rp 13.490.458, in the year 2005 optimal working capital equal to Rp 13.438.416,84 smaller than real capital equal to Rp 14.709.465, in the year 2006 optimal working capital equal to Rp 15.643.571,11 bigger than real working capital equal to Rp 14.815.847 and in the year 2007 optimal working capital equal to Rp 16.723.928,18 smaller than real working capital equal to Rp 17.262.980. pursuant to the result can prove that PT Gudang Garam, Tbk. not yet optimal in management of working capital. Pursuant to conclusion hence raised some suggestion to company that is expected can management of working capital better, so that year expected come PT Gudang Garam, Tbk. to lessen its working capital so that not happened excess of working capital or happened out of job fund. Result of this research expected can assist company management as one of consideration in decision making and policy about determination of working capital optimalisasi at period to come. After seeing result of research, natural company of excess of working capital hence company better invest excess of working capital, so that can improve company profit. Company have to give serious attention in working capital management, so that can reach usage of optimal working capital.
