The aim of this research is being to know about the difference selling volume, before and after the development produk act. This data analysis which used in this research is qualitative analyse to know the phase of product development , and quantitative analyse to know about selling volume by examines wit “t- paired” is shows the different selling volume after and before it takes the development product. To achieve a primary data about product development phase, it use by personal interview with the owner of the cigarette company. Research object is the datas of selling voume for “SAMSU” cigarettes during 12 mounts in 2005 (before doing the product development) and 12 mounts in 2006 (after doing the product development). Result of analysis was indicate that the company act for product development is very simplicity, include to get a new idea, select idea, making development product, test market, and commerce. Result of settlement, with examines sample (t-paired) to know there are or not the different “selling volume” after and before doing the development, it shows t0 = 0,618< ttabel = 2,20 With that analysis result as above, the company must do more evaluation to knows the exactly caused, why the strategy of product development which do by the company has not uptimum. So it’s time to consider the other factor which can increase the selling product as promotion.
