Abstract

Malang is a city that is a destination for foreign tourists visiting Indonesia. The basic thing that needed by foreign tourists in conducting travel is a travel agent. There are several travel agents which became the main destinations for foreign tourists in the city of Malang, one of them is Ourtrip1st. OurTrip1st has been trusted by tourists from various countries to accompany their tour. This can be seen from the hundreds of positive reviews that continue to grow on their official travel page on TripAdvisor, Website, Instagram, Facebook and so on. This study aims to determine how the implementation of marketing communications carried out by OurTrip1st travel service company on foreign tourists. This study uses the concept of marketing communication promotion mix, because the researchers want to know what marketing communication elements are used by Ourtrip1st in their marketing communication strategies. In this study, researchers used qualitative research methods, with descriptive research types, as well as on the basis of naturalistic research. Data obtained through interviews, observations and documentation to 6 subjects with total sampling technique. Data analysis techniques using the interactive model of Miles Huberman, and Saldana by using data validity that is triangulation of data sources. The study was conducted in June 2019. The results showed that the marketing communication strategy undertaken by Ourtrip1st in foreign tourists has been included elements in marketing communication based on the promotion mix concept, which are advertising, personal selling, sales promotion, public relations and direct marketing. Although it has carried out a strategy based on the concept of marketing communication, this strategy was not done based on the promotion mix concept.
