Dianita, Silvy. 2012. Effect of Problem Based Learning (PBL) Learning Models on Thematic Achievement 5th Grade State Elementary Bunulrejo 04 Malang. Bachelor Thesis, Department of Primary School Teacher Education, Faculty of Education Muhammadiyah University Malang. Advisors: (1) Dr. Moh. Mahfud Effendi, MM (2) Agung Deddiliawan Iamail, M.Pd. The problem of the research was the students’ result of learning process on thematic subject was still low in SDN Bunulrejo 04 Malang. The aim of this study was to find out the effect of problem based learning method to the fifth grade students’ result of learning process of thematic subject. The method used in this research was pre experimental designs with the learning steps of Problem Based Learning; 1)orientating the students, 2) organizing the students, 3) guiding the students, 4) developing the result of learning process. 5) Analyzing and evaluating. The design used in this research was one group pretest-posttest design. The data analysis shows that there is an effect of the students’ result of learning process after the implementation of problem based learning in thematic subject. It can be seen from the students’ average score after the implementation of problem based learning method is higher than the students’ average score before the implementation of problem based learning The learning method is one component that influences student learning outcomes because it is recommended for teachers to be able to choose the right learning method in accordance with the learning objectives to be achieved. The influence of the use of PBL learning models in this study can be seen from the average value of learning outcomes that have increased, namely the average value of the control group 81.36 and the experimental group 90.31. Standard Deviation of control group 11.4 and experimental group 10.37. To test hypotheses using the t test, the results of the t-count value are greater than the t-table value. Thus it means that there are significant differences between the experimental group tests in the control group.
