Abstract
Motorcycle thievery (auto theft-curanmor) is no longer new issues in criminality world. Auto theft, is one form thievery spread among people. Number of auto theft case reaching one until three cases per dayhas proved that auto theft syndicate is difficult to fight in Legal Juridisdiction of Polres Jombang. This study has taken problematic issues: 1. What is the procedure to reported automotive loss in Legal Jurisdiction of Polres Jombang? 2. What are the victim’s roles in helping out to reveal the actor of auto-theft? 3. What are Polres Jombang effort to follow up victim’s roles in helping out to reveal criminal act of auto theft? This study is using sociological jurisdiction approach while data collection technique is using interview with respondent as the victim of criminal act of auto-theft and direct observation to the location of study in Kepolisian Resor Jombang as primary data location. From the interview with the victim of auto-theft as the respondent, author gain several factors as the reason why criminal act of auto-theft is occurred: a. economy factor; b. careless factor; c. open opportunity factor. Conclusion, the causes of why criminal act of auto-theft occurs were: (1) the victim is forgotten not to lockhis/her vehicle (keys were left behind) during parking; (2) the victim is forgotten to put on double lock; (3) there is an intention from the thief. Advice, for Kepolisian Resor Jombnag, they should do monitoring acts for vulnerable spots, because it is likely to become the location where criminal act of auto-theft occurs. For the people, particularly one located in vulnerable region as the closest component with the criminal location should give information about criminal act of auto-theft.
