Abstract

The purpose of this study was to determine the advantages of competing street vendors in Dau District. This type of research is the type of survey research. In general, the sample used as the unit of analysis is individual. Sample in survey research is used as primary data source. Street Vendors is a trader in the informal sector who conducts individual business or group business activities in running his business using public facilities, such as sidewalks, sidewalks, public roads, and others. As a trader who runs his business activities within a certain period of time by using facilities or traps that are easily moved, dismantled and easy to use public facilities as a place of business such as the activities of street vendors in Dau District. Based on the results of this study indicate that there are four forms of competitive advantage performed in street vendors, namely low operational cost factors, good product quality and product consistency, time such as speed of delivery, delivery timeliness, product development speed, and the last flexibility with product variations, product demand, and volume flexibility. The result of analysis from the table shows that there are four competitive advantage factors by street vendors in Kecamatan Dau. To respond to the results of the four competitive advantage factors with low operational costs, what can be done is to suppress the selling price of the product to be cheap or affordable, so that the product is likely to sell quickly in the market. Quality then aims to meet customer or customer satisfaction of products sold, overcome by applying consistent to the quality of products merchandise in a way when getting orders in large quantities does not reduce the original quality. Time ie through the process of fast delivery and timely delivery can respond to customer orders as quickly and gain more trust from consumers. Flexibility then apply product variations to meet competitiveness so as to compete with other street vendors.
