Abstract

Background of Study: Hypertension is one of the non-communicable diseases that is still a problem in the health sector, the symptoms caused are not so problematic. How do I request hypertension if the blood pressure is> 140/90 mmHg. The incidence of hypertension in Indonesia in respondents who were issued 18 years and above was found to be 34.1%. Various factors can be the cause of hypertension. The purpose of this study was to study the relationship between diet and the incidence of hypertension in residents of Lasah Hamlet, Tawangargo Village, Karangploso Subdistrict. Method: The research design used was observational analytic. The sampling technique in this study was purposive sampling, and the method of collecting data using questionnaires. The sample in this study consisted of 55 residents of hypertension who were included in the inclusion criteria. Data analysis was done using chi square. Result: The results of identification of eating patterns using questionnaires at 55 respondents in Lasah Hamlet, Tawangargo Village, Karangploso District. The level of sodium consumption is often (> 5x / week) 32.12% and rare category (<5x / week) 67.87%. Frequent fat consumption (> 5x / week) 22.11% and rare category (<5x / week) 77.87. High consumption of sodium and fat are often (> 5x / week) categories 22.36 and rare categories (<5x / week) 75.45. Frequent consumption of potassium category (> 5x / week) was 35.76% and rare category (<5x / week) 64.23%. Conclusion: The results of identification of dietary factors in patient with hypertension, the data obtained showed that the pattern of food consumption of the community in Lasah Hamlet, Tawangargo Village, Kec. Karangploso is still very high consuming high sodium, fat, and caffeine. Therefore from the data obtained the value of blood pressure in the community in the village tends to be high. Therefore, it is very important for the role of medical personnel to approach them to remind them of the importance of a diet that is good for their health.
