PENGARUH INTENSITAS KOMUNIKASI TERHADAP KUALITAS HUBUNGAN ORANG TUA DAN ANAK (Studi Pada Mahasiswa Ilmu Komunikasi Universitas Muhammadiyah Malang Angkatan 2017)

Communication is an important aspect of the relationship between parents and children. High intensity communication can improve the quality of the relationship between parents and children. This research aims to determine the effect of communication intensity on the quality of parent-child relationships among Communication Science students at the University of Muhammadiyah Malang class of 2017. This research uses a survey method with a quantitative approach. The research population was 345 Communication Sciences students at the University of Muhammadiyah Malang, class of 2017. The research sample taken was 78 people taken using simple random sampling techniques. Research data was collected using questionnaires or questionnaires. This research also shows that variable X1, namely communication intensity, shows an influence on the quality of the relationship between parents and children (Y). Based on the table, the effect of communication intensity (X1) on the quality of parent-child relationships (Y) has a significant value of 0.000 - 0.05. This means that the intensity of communication affects the quality of the relationship between parents and children. It is known that the value (R2) is 0.799 or 79.9%, which shows that communication intensity has an influence of 79.9% on the quality of parent-child relationships, while the remaining 20.1% is influenced by other factors. The research results show that the intensity of communication has a positive and significant influence on the quality of the relationship between parents and children. The higher the intensity of communication, the higher the quality of parent-child relationships, especially among students.
