Abstract

This research is motivated because schools are still difficult to use learning media because the making of learning media requires a lot of free time. This is based on an analysis of the needs obtained at the interview on 28 October 2018 with Class 1 Teachers at SDN PUNTEN 01 Batu City. For this reason, there is a need for learning media that can help students to understand the material delivered by the teacher during Indonesian Language subjects using the Kopsunkat media (Word Stacking Puzzle Suitcase). This study aims to 1) develop learning media for reading material for syllables and words of grade 1 students in elementary school. 2) describe the level of validity and effectiveness of Kopsunkat media products in the learning process in grade 1 of elementary school. This research and development uses the ADDIE development model in which there are 5 stages including Analyze, Design, Development, Implementation and Evalution. This study uses qualitative data analysis techniques and quantitative data and data collection techniques used are observation, interviews, questionnaires and documentation. Based on the results of the research conducted with the use of Kopsunkat media on Indonesian language learning syllable reading material and words indicate the percentage of evaluation of media validation test of 93% with qualification criteria is very valid and feasible to use. While the validation of the material expert gets a percentage of 82% with very valid criteria and validation of learning experts gets a percentage of 96.25%. The results of effectiveness are taken from the results of student responses which show an average percentage of 85.65% with interesting criteria. It can be concluded that the development of the Word Stacking Suitcase media (KOPSUNKAT) for the loud reading material of class 1 syllables and words is valid, effective and interesting to use in the learning process. In this study it is suggested that the media that has been developed can be used as an interesting and fun learning media for students in learning Indonesian.
