Abstract

This study aimed to produce products of “Secret Box Earth’s Rotation and Revolution” media at theme 8 Earth and Universe in earth rotation and revolution material at third grade student elementary school. This media were established based on the need analysis and student characteristic. “Secret Box Earth’s Rotation and Revolution” media was in the form of secret box that made from wood where it can be exhibited as a tool to help the learning process by the student so that all of the ornaments in this media were a replica. ADDIE model development was employed in this study which consisted of five steps, namely analyze, design, development, implementation, and evaluation. The finding denoted that “Secret Box Earth’s Rotation and Revolution” media was interesting and appropriate to be implemented in the learning process and it was able to help the student in the learning process. Material and Expert validation was conducted by the researcher to validate the media. The validation result indicated that this media can be tested according to suggestions and comments from experts. It was proved by the results of the validation of material experts and media experts which each of them obtained a percentage value of 97,2% from the material validator and 91,6% from the media validator. The “Secret Box Earth’s Rotation and Revolution” media usage received a very good response with the results of student and teacher response questionnaires which received a value of of 93% for the student and 96,8% for the teacher responses so that the “Secret Box Earth’s Rotation and Revolution” media can be said that it is interesting to be used inside learning process. The “Secret Box Earth’s Rotation and Revolution” media trial results at theme 8 Earth and Universe in earth rotation and revolution material at SDN Mojolangu 5 Malang received an average score of 91,77 and a percentage of 91,77%. Based on the research finding, it is suggested that the “Secret Box Earth’s Rotation and Revolution” media was used for learning earth rotation and revolution material at third grade student in elementary school to help students and teachers achieve learning goals and create interesting learning.
