Abstract

Teaching materials is a learning resource in the learning process. It is employed when there is a deficiency in the textbook that used as the learning resource, such as lack of explanation regarding the material it self. It can be seen through the fields learning where there is a mathematics textbook, but the material explanation is limited. This research aimed to (1) establish mathematics teaching student; (2) understand the appropriateness and attractiveness of teaching material based on Bruner theory. ADDIE model development was employed in this study which consisted of five steps, namely analyze, design, development, implementation and evaluation. This research was conducted on fifth grade elementary student in SD Muhammadiyah 4 Batu with 28 students.the data collection technique was using observation, interview, questionnaire and documentation. The data was obtained in the form of qualitative and quantitative data and then it was processed and described by presenting meansurable data to determine the quality of the product being developed. The finding of mathematic teaching material based on Bruner theory in solid figure volume was established upon the percentage evaluatin of the validation results. It denoted thet the percentage of validation results by teaching material experts came up with 86%, by a linguist with 95%, material expert with 92% and learning expert with 95%. Afterward, the responses of the student received a percentage of 90%. Based in the research finding, it can be concluded that teaching material based on Bruner teory is valid and attractive, so it is suitable to be implemented in the learning process to complete the learning resource of fifth grade elementary student.
