Abstract

Based on the needs analysis conducted at SDN 2 Pujon Kidul on November 5, 2018, it was found that learning media at the school was still lacking. Class I teachers at the school use Indonesian printed books to explain reading material. Learning is centered on the teacher which makes students less actively involved in learning. The first grade teacher of SDN 2 Pujon Kidul has not been able to present media that are in accordance with the wishes and characteristics of students. This study aims to produce Magic Disc media products reading material in grade I elementary school students. Magic Disc is designed based on the analysis of the needs and characteristics of elementary school students in general. Researchers used the ADDIE research and development model which consisted of five stages, namely, analyzing, planning, developing, implementing and evaluating. This research was conducted at SDN 2 Pujon Kidul, totaling 36 students. The study was conducted on May 18, 2019. Data collection techniques used observation, interviews, questionnaires, and documentation. Data analysis techniques using qualitative and quantitative descriptive data analysis. The results showed that: (1) after the researcher validated the material expert and the media expert it could be said that the Magic Disc media was appropriate to use. This is indicated by the acquisition of a percentage of material experts by 90.62% and the acquisition of a percentage of media experts by 93.18%. (2) the use of Magic Disc media can be said to be effective because it gets an average yield of 90 and reaches the specified KKM. (3) the developed Magic Disc media can be said to be interesting. This is indicated by the acquisition of a percentage of the results of the teacher's response of 94.44% and the acquisition of a percentage of the results of student responses by 94.35%. The results of this study, it is suggested that the Magic Disc media is used for learning reading material for class I in elementary schools to help students and teachers achieve learning objectives and create interesting learning.
