Abstract

The effort to rebranding the “3G” village into “Glintung Kultur” village aims to improve the welfare of the citizens because the ideas in the planning of “Glintung Kultur” were taken by villagers consultation and consensus. For matters of funds in programs or events created inside or outside the village, residents use their village savings. Held a routine event every three months, the association between representatives of villages in the city of Malang, which is facilitated by the tourism office, social media is a way as to showcase and introduce the existence of “Glintung Kultur”. The research method used by researchers is descriptive qualitative. Using a direct interview research tool with informants or research subjects according to (Sugiono, 2014: 234), to analyze qualitative data the research tool used is interview transcripts and research documentation, after which researchers sort out the data that would be able to answer the research problem formulation and be presented performantly narrative sentence form to explain thoroughly so it is easy to understand .. The results of this study indicate that the rebranding effort towards “Glintung Kultur” has been carried out even though it has not yet reached the goal that became their target. “Glintung Kultur” can offer a variety of tourism potential where previously there were only injection and greening wells contained in the “3G” program. there are more jobs and the activeness of the people also helps to run the programs in “Glintung Kultur”.
