Abstract

The campaign period for presidential candidates (candidates) and vice presidential candidates (vice presidential candidates) has begun. The presidential and vice president candidates not only take advantage of open campaigns in conveying their vision and mission, but also through digital advertising, one of them through online media, namely Youtube. The Prabowo-Sandi campaign ad pair, which emphasizes more in terms of the diversity of Indonesian society from religion and culture, with Prabowo's diction, fertile land, accentuates simple visuals. The background song of Tanah Airku in the ad reminds us of the diversity and richness of Indonesia. The song is a leader in semiosis about the richness and diversity of cultures in Indonesia. The Prabowo campaign team seemed to want to hook the hearts of the people with the latest campaign advertisement in the ad campaign, containing a campaign song composed by the Prabowo team who invited the people to elect a presidential candidate who could lead and protect. This study uses Denis McQuail's Mass Communication theory in the book Theory of communication theory and practice, and the theory of Political Communication of Cangara Hafied in the revised edition of the introduction to communication science. This research uses descriptive research method. The subjects of this study were 4 (four) people from the Himakom (Communication Student Association) organization that used interview data collection techniques. Data analysis techniques using a systematic model of Iskandar (data reduction, data presentation stage, and the stage of drawing conclusions). The results of this study use several theories such as mass media communication used for the research process.
