This study goes from the presence of various kinds of news program in television nowadays. Almost every TV station in Indonesia has its prime programs, as well as news program which produced excellently to attract people’s interest to watch it. The emergence of news program in form of newstainment indicates that the improvement and innovation does not simply belong to entertainment programme. Newstainment has become new genre in television broadcasting sector which merge news and entertainment. We can see this obviously on news KABAR PETANG which is relayed live from TV One every day at 17.30 p.m. This 120- minutes length programme offers wide of news and information from 3 biro in Makasar, Medan, and Surabaya. The problems of the study is formulated as; is there any influence of the attactiveness of the news program toward students’ interest in watching KABAR PETANG in TV One and How great is the influence of the attactiveness of the news on TV toward student’s in rutinity watching. Thories employed in this study is the theory of uses and gratification. This study is an associative explanative, which is a study conducted to examine the relationship between variables to be hypothesized then.the hypothesis it self depicts the influence between two variables or more, to abtain whether a variable is a influenced by another. While, the basis of this study is survey, which is a study by collecting data from a number of individuals in simultaenous time (period). The population of this study is students majored in Communication in Universitas Muhammadiyah Malang class in 2006 period which a spectator Kabar Petang News in TV One and the sample of 32. The sampling tecnique used is total sampling. Data analysis used Product Moment. The result of the sudy shows that Based on the result is got correlation coefficient value as big as 0.823. Pass in linear regression calculation, knowable influence magnitude 67,7%, that influence diversity attraction content arrangement influences behaviour TV watches society as big as 67,7 % and the rest as big as 32,3% of behaviour TV watches society is influenced by other variable that is not mentioned in this research.
