Abstract

English as one of the most widely used foreign languages plays a very important role today. It is an international languages which is very useful in this globalization era. Authentic assessment is an evaluation process that involves multiple forms of performance measurement reflecting the student’s learning, achievement, motivation, and attitudes. On instructionally-relevant activities. It indicates that authentic assessment is a system to collect information about student’s learning and performance. Thus, authentic assessment includes all evaluation on students’ behavior as a result of learning process. The purpose of the research is to know how the teacher implements authentic assessment in curriculum 2013 at SMK Muhammadiyah 7 Gondanglegi. This research used qualitative research because the data were collected in the form of word. The subject of this research was a teacher who taught English subject at SMK Muhammadiyah 7 Gondanglegi. Thus, the research considered herself as the primary instrument in this research, because the researcher intended to understand the phenomena of implementation of authentic assessment based on curriculum 2013. The result of this research showed with the result of the interview, there were three authentic assessment steps were applied by the research subject. They were composed of : (1) identifying the standard, (2) selecting the authentic task, and (3) identifying criteria for the task.
