Abstract

Development of boarding school is inseparable from the figure of leader, the boarding school leader is commonly reffered to as a typical Islamic boarding school namely, clerics or kyai. The leadership of individual and collective messages is the same, the most important thing is to understand a vision, mission, duties, rights and authority, and have a fair, wise, charismatic nature. A leader must be firm in every step in taking every action and decision, must have muru’ah as a kyai in a boarding school, collective leadership is easier to lead than individual leaders, because more people think about the developmet and progress of a boarding school. Trimurti’s collective leadership concept in the Modern Boarding School Darussalam Gontor, established a new gontor boarding school by KH. Ahmad Sahal by giving some clothes to the village children, organizing community activities, establishing Tarbiyatul Athfal, establishing Sullamul Muta’allimin, then establishing KMI, whose student were taken from Sullamul Muta’allimin, then establishing IPD and there were several organizations in Modern Boarding School Darussalam Gontor. Trimurti also endorses the Modern Boarding School Gontor for the ummah, which is then managed by the Waqf Board chaired by high officials of the lodge and consists of several asatidz and some alumni from Modern Boarding School Darussalam Gontor. Modern Boarding School Darussalam Gontor’s collective leadership strength, lies in the individual’s leaders, namely, different educational backgrounds and the same ideals to establish a famous boarding school throughout Indonesia by establishing 1000 Modern Boarding School Darussalam Gontor.
