Abstract

Curriculum is a set of plans and arrangements about the learning aims, content, and materials to reach a particular educational goal (Nugrahaeni, 2015). As stated in the Regulation of Minister of Education and Culture no. 58 of 2014, Curriculum 2013aims at preparing the Indonesian to be a faithful, productive, innovative and effective individual, in addition, to be an individual who is able to contribute to the social life, nation, country, and the world civilization. This study was focused on the implementation of one of the learning models that has been one of the learning models that used in Curriculum 2013. It is called Project Based Learning. Furthermore, this study used qualitative research method with descriptive research design. Descriptive qualitative research design was used to describe the implementation of Project Based Learning that the teacher used in teaching English Subject of MTS Miftahul Ulum Pasuruan. Moreover, the research instruments is the data analysis. The subject of this research is a teacher who taught English subjectthe secondgrade of MTS Miftahul Ulum Pasuruan. The results of this study showed that there were seventh meeting related to the implementation of the PjBL approach, that is similar with the step of the implementation of PjBL; 1. Start With the Essential Question, It can be seen at in the first meeting, teacher used the picture of Borobudur temple as an object of discussion, 2. Design a Plan for the Project, It can be showed at the third meeting, the teacher tried to stimulate students with a story of a trip. 3. Create a Schedule, In the third meeting, the teacher arranged the schedule of the video of recount text, 4. Monitor the Students and the Progress of the Project, In every preparation of the recount text draft (third – sixth meeting), the teacher try to monitor the students project, 5. Assess the Outcome, In the last meeting (seventh meeting) the students show their project outcome, 6. Evaluate the Experience, reflection is done individually or in a group.
