Abstract

The nature of rice seed which is directly dormant after harvest, is a survival and form of adaptation of plants to the environment, seed dormancy can prevent the seeds from being polluted while still in the field or in wet conditions and can reduce the rate of seed decline (Wahyuni, 2012). The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of soaking time and effective concentration on the solution of rice dormancy after ripening Implementation of this research in January 2019 to June 2019 . Research site in the experimental garden of the University of Muhammadiyah Malang . The experiment will be carried out in 2 places, in the laboratory and in the field simultaneously. The design of the laboratory is RAL which consists of 2 factors . Factor 1 is the treatment solution of dormancy (P) consisting of three treatments, namely: that (P1) Control, (P2) Soaked in a solution of GA 3 50 ppm, (P3) soaked in a solution of KNO 3 0 , 3%. Factor 2 is the Soaking Time (T ) which consists of (T24) 24 Hours, (T36) 36 Hours, (T48) 48 Hours. Research dilapang use RAK (Random Design Group ) factorial with 2 factors were repeated 3 times. Factor 1 is the treatment solution of dormancy (P) consisting of 5 treatments, namely: that (P1) Control, (P2) Soaked in a solution of GA 3 50 ppm, (P3) soaked in a solution of KNO 3 0 , 3 %. Factor 2 is the Soaking Time (T ) which consists of (T24) 24 Hours, (T36) 36 Hours, (T48) 48 Hours. Based on the results of the research obtained kinds of types and long soaking indicate their interaction which is very noticeable in the power of germination , speed of growth , tall plant , long panicles , and the amount of grain , while the number of panicles , age flowering , age harvest , heavy grain wet , heavy dry grain , weight keirng grain pithy , and the weight of dried grain hollow show not occur interaction . The results of the experiment showed immersion using GA3 with long soaking 24 hours is the interaction of treatment best to break the dormancy of seeds of rice.
