Abstract

Water is now a chronic problem in Indonesia. The amount is not comparable to the number of people who reach more than 200 million, the need for clean water becomes increasingly urgent. Pollution can be grouped into two large groups, which are sources of pollutants that form activities or results of human activities and sources of pollutants that are natural events, pollution from volcanic events that erupted have the zone of danger area Eruption of the mountain also increased water in the volcano crater more and more leakage occurred on the wall of the crater containing a variety of chemical substances especially sulfur. The crater leakage that occurred in Mount Ijen is now a problem for the surrounding community. The results of the analysis of H2S levels that have been tested at Tirta Jasa Laboratory with a sample of river water in Asembagus subdistrict, found that the highest level is available in the upper Lane in the afternoon, at 16.00 Wib by 7.621 mg/L.
