Abstract
Language is one important tool for communication. Language has many variations that used by certain community. Register is one of language variation. Doctor, tailor, other profession or certain community have their own language variation called register. Register is a conventional way of using language that is appropriate in a specific context. In this research, the researcher analyses registers used by NVN konveksi workers and analyze the reason of using registers by NVN konveksi workers. The design used in this research is qualitative research design. The subjects of the research are NVN konveksi workers. For collecting the data researcher uses three instruments observation checklist, interview guideline and document. The findings show that the NVN konveksi workers use sixty-two of registers. When the NVN konveksi workers work, they use register to communicate each other. There are several work sections in the NVN konveksi: sewing, cutting, printing, embroidery and design section. Each has its registers in every work section. The workers realize that registers are to minimize misleading information for their job and make them faster in transferring the information.
