Literature is simply another way we can experience the world around us through our imagination. It means that by reading literature the readers can increase their experience through imagination. By having imagination, the readers get fascination, satisfaction, and happiness. One of the interesting literary works is novel. Novel is a book length story in prose, whose author tries to create the sense that, while we read, we experience actual life. The writer of his thesis chooses one of Agatha Christie’s novel as the title “Death in the Clouds” to be analyzed. Dealing with this study, the writer presents two problems: What are Hercule Poirot’s reasons to reveal the murder in Agatha Christie’s novel “Death in the Clouds”, and what are Hercule Poirot’s ways to reveal the murder in Agatha Christie’s novel “Death in the Clouds”. In analyzing this novel, the writer used a descriptive method because he wanted to describe the real condition that exists in the object he investigated. Dealing with the study the writer of this thesis used the objective approach. The object of the study was the story in the novel “Death in the Clouds” by Agatha Christie. The data were obtained by analyzing paragraphs, dialogues and events in the story. Based on the data analysis, it can be concluded that Hercule Poirots’ reasons to reveal the murder are: (1) Hercule Poirot is suspected of being the murderer and (2) Hercule Poirot wants to get back his good reputation. While, Hercule Poirot’s ways to reveal the murder are: (1) making a list of people’s possession and (2) revealing the clues found. Dealing with the result of finding, it can be seen that Hercule Poirot is successful in revealing the murder that happens in flight from Paris to Croydon. This is proved by the fact that the death of Madame Giselle is done by one of the passengers whose name is Norman Gale.
