Abstract

Sorghum (Sorghum bicolor (L). Moench.) is a serelia plant that is suitable for breeding in tropical Indonesia. Plants are able to adapt to drought, standing water, continue to produce on marginal land and are relatively resistant to pest and disease. The research was carried out in three stages, the first stage was crossing of sorghum plants in the Merdeka Pasuruan Experimental Garden which addressed in Purutrejo Village, Purworejo District, Pasuruan City. The second stage of germination in the Laboratory of Agrotechnology, University of Muhammadiyah Malang, while the third stage of planting the results of the crossing in the Experimental Garden of the University of Muhammadiyah Malang which was rescued in Tegalgondo Village, Karang Ploso District, Malang City. The study was conducted in November 2018 - May 2019. The material used in this study was the genotype sorghum 2 (G3), Tuban (G4) and Tulungagung 1 (G7). The tools used are small scissors, small tweezers, paper envelopes, small containers of paper, ropes, plastic labels, markers, steples, flashlights, plastic containers, straw paper, tissue paper, sprayers, rulers, calipers, calipers, tugal, baby bags15 x 15 cm, analytical scales, cameras and stationery. The cross-sectional study used a simple randomized block design (RBD) method that was repeated 4 times. Settlement with Inter-Paper Test (UAK) with tissue paper modification and planting in a single plant. The analysis used is the analysis of variances (ANOVA), followed by BNJ test level of 5%, analysis of mean (ANOM) and cluster analysis. The results showed that the Lamongan 2 (G3) and Tuban (G4) genotypes were better used as male parents than females in the crossing process, while the Tulungagung 1 (G7) genotypes were better used as female parents. The characters of the seeds from the crosses and elders have differences from the elders, G3 as the male parent is more dominant in influencing the color of the seeds. The germination results of the crossing ranged from 58.80 to 82.50%, while the elders ranged from 84-100%. The height of the crossing plants ranges from 12-18.5 cm and elders 11-20 cm. The number of leaves from crosses ranges from 3-4 leaves, as well as the elders.
