Abstract

ABSTRACT Ramadani, Fajar. 2019. The Issues of Authentic Assessment Implementation Based on Curriculum 2013 for SMP Muhammadiyah 8 Batu. Thesis, Study Program of Mathematics, FKIP, MuhammadiyahUniversity of Malang. Advisors: (I) Dr. Moh. Mahfud Effendi, M.M (II) Alfiani Athma Putri Rosyadi, M.Pd. Curriculum 2013 is curriculum that replaces Curriculum 2006. Curriculum 2013 in the early days of the enactment become the object of previous research studies which find out how its implementation. Based on the results of one research, it was mentioned that teachers have difficulties in authentic assessment but was not described in detail what those difficulties. The problems that become the focus of this research are: (1) Understanding of teachers about the authentic assessment based on Curriculum 2013, (2) Implementation of authentic assessment by teachers, (3) Problems of teachers in the implementation of authentic assessment, (4) The desired solution of the teachers problem while implementing the authentic assessment, (5) The solution that has been done by teachers to overcome the implementation problem of authentic assessment. This research use qualitative method with case study approach. Data collection use interviews and documentation. The informants are Junior High School Mathematic Studies teachers in SMP Muhammadiyah 8 Batu. Data analysis use spiral data analysis techniques belong to Creswell. The results of this research show that : (1) Teachers understand authentic assessment as an assessment that assesses students in aspects of knowledge, skills and attitudes, (2) Teachers have been able to implement authentic assessment fully, (3) The appeared problem in the implementation are teachers get hassles to fill assessment format, teachers do not agree with the school’s minimum completeness criteria, students are late in collecting assignment, and there are too many students in one class, (4) Teachers want a simplification of the assessment format, reconsideration the minimum completeness criteria, and reduction the number of students in one class, (5) Teachers initiatives to solve the problem by complete the assessment at home, use the lessons efficiently, discuss with fellow teachers, and make an approach with students. The conclusion of this research is the teachers can implement authentic assessment but get hassles caused by having many assessment format. Teachers also face other things outside the assessment implementation that can hamper the teachers to carry out assessment. Suggestions for future research is to develop Curriculum 2013 or its aspects based on the results of previous research which have theme Curriculum 2013.
