Abstract

Mushrooms that are used as a medicine and functional food generally in addition, contain carbohydrates, fats, proteins, and fiber, some fungi also contain secondary metabolites which are very useful in the field of pharmaceutical and medicines. The purpose of this study is to determine the effect of several different growth media compositions and mushroom strains on the growth and synthesis metabolites. Using factorial Randomized Complete Design that consists of 2 factors. Observation parameters that used are: mycelium length (cm), time to appear primordia (days), harvest age (days), wet weight (grams) and dry weight (grams). The results on mycelium growth obtained were analyzed using a analysis of variance, while the significance test was carried out by a 5% BNJ advanced test. The results show that mycelium from the four mushrooms strains can grow on all media and the fastest is on the media with the addition of 20% Azolla compost on the mushroom strains PS10 and P8 (M2J2 and M2J4). The appearance of primordia and harvest time was only carried out on fungal strains that produced fruit bodies, that is P8 fungal strains on all media (M1J4, M2J4, and M3J4). The wet and dry weight of the fungus provides the same response to the treatment that given, therefore the addition of Azolla compost and goat's manure can be used as an alternative source of nitrogen nutrients for mushrooms. So it extract were taken by the maceration process and then analyze the content of chemical compounds with GC-MS. The results showed that some specific metabolites in the P8 fungal strain had the potential to be anti-cancer and antibiotics.
