Abstract

The existence of butterflies, especially in the Karangploso sub-district region began to be endangered due to the number of functions of land being converted into residential land. This study aims to describe the diversity of butterflies that exist in agricultural habitats, plantations and settlements in the district Karangploso and Describe the results of research on the diversity of butterflies to be used as a source of learning Biology class X. The sampling method used in this study was non-probability sampling. The data were analyzed using Shanon-Wiener diversity index (H '), species evenness index (E) and Simpson Dominance index (D) to determine the level of dominance of each butterfly species. The observations showed the total of butterflies recorded in agricultural habitats, plantations, and settlements as many as 52 individuals which consisting of three families. The index value of butterfly species diversity was higher in agricultural and plantation habitats, namely 1.724 and 1.544. The result of evenness index is around 0.027-0.094, which means that the evenness of station 1, 2 and 3 have low level of evenness. The results of the dominance index (between 0.179 and 0.228) show that the dominance index at the station was relatively low. The results of the study can be used as a source of learning biological diversity material in the form of student worksheets (LKPD).
