Abstract
The purpose of this study was to determine the growth patterns of East Sumba Regency, to find out the leading sectors of East Sumba Regency, and to find out the absorption of labor in the East Sumba Regency. The researcher analyzed the data using LQ (location quotient) analysis, typology analysis, and analysis of sector employment absorption elasticity. The test results show that the growth pattern of East Sumba Regency is an advanced but depressed area, there are five economic sectors which are the leading sectors or potential sectors, and the economic sector that is the most labor sector is agriculture. Therefore, the East Sumba Regency government is expected to be able to their roles and facilities.
