Abstract

Characterization is an observation process that aims to determine the character of a plant. This study aims to obtain information on the vegetative and generative characteristics of each individual M-1 mutant rice from the MSP-04 and MSP-13 strains of 100 Gy gamma radiation and similar information between the M-1 mutant generation individuals from the MSP-04 and MSP strains -13 100 Gy gamma ray radiation using cluster analysis based on vegetative and generative characters. The method used in this study is an explorative descriptive survey, in each individual generation M-1 mutant rice from MSP-04 and MSP-13 strains of 100 Gy gamma ray radiation, accompanied by measurement of Vegetative and Generative characters, then tested for kinship using Minitab software. Based on this research, M-1 genotypes MSP- 04 and MSP-13 have different vegetative and generative characters, especially in quantitative, namely plant height, number of tillers, number of leaves, leaf width, flag leaf angle, age of flowering, age of plant / age harvest, panicle number, panicle length, number of panicle grains, panicle weight, gross weight of the pile, total weight of pithed grain, and weight of 100 pithed grain. But on Qualitative thinking the same character that is in the ear ear color (white), leaf tongue color (white), leaf blade color (dark green), leaf surface (medium), the color of the stem book (green), the type of panicle exit (All panicles out and part of the neck out), panicle type (compact). Based on cluster analysis of vegetative and generative characters M-1 MSP-04 and MSP-13 are divided into several groups, vegetative characters are divided into seven groups, on MSP-04 with similarities ranging from 11.27% - 78.50%, MSP-13 with values the similarity is around 52.48% -75.94%. Whereas the generative and production characters of MSP- 04 are divided into sixteen groups with similarity values ranging from 41.66% - 69.06%, MSP-13 is divided into 25 groups with similarity values ranging from 15.09% - 74.48
