Abstract

In children's education, the role of parents is very important especially for children who carry out 2 education at once, namely pesantren education and formal education, parents' motivation in children's education is as an educator, motivator, mediator, facilitator and supervisor, in the process of children's education learning motivation must always there and maintained, motivation to learn will be good and grow from the child's personality naturally from within the child's self or there are external factors that cause the motivation to grow among these factors are parents, parents must be able to play a role in growing children's motivation to learn, if the child's learning motivation is good then the child's learning outcomes will be good too. From the things above, researchers feel interested in conducting research on the role of parents in increasing students' motivation to learn, and the background chosen in this study is the Salafiyah Islamic Boarding School Nurul Huda Poncokusumo Malang Lessons whose students are formal school students both at secondary and level levels above and there are also some students. In this study, the approach chosen by the researcher is a descriptive research approach, namely research to investigate the conditions, conditions, and describe the conditions that exist and apply at this time, while this research is a qualitative study in which data are in the form of words, methods used To collect data in this study are observation, interviews and documentation. The results obtained from this study are: a.) Student learning motivation at Salafiyah Islamic Boarding School Nurul Huda Poncokusumo Lessons are good enough with evidence of active students in pesantren learning activities such as, prayer time in five time prayers, book reading activities, madin activities , khitobiah activity, LBM activities and extra-curricular activities of Islamic boarding school ... b) there are still some parents of students who have not provided good motivation in the education of students in Islamic boarding schools with evidence that there are parents who are very lacking in approach and coordination with related parties in boarding schools both caregivers and boarding school administrators in matters relating to boarding schools. c.) problems of santri such as the violation of santri, social environment, santri ideals of santri participation of guardians of santri in meeting activities in pesantren,
