Abstract

Tomato plant is a horticultural plant that is popular in the world and in Indonesia. Tomato plant (Lycopersicon esculentum) belongs to the Solanaceae family. Tomato varieties of Cerasiforme (Dun) Alef are often called cherry tomatoes which are found growing wild in Ecuador and Peru, and have spread widely throughout the world (Hancock, 1992 in Damni, 2016). Constraints that are often found in the production of cherry tomatoes are pests that affect the quality of cherry tomatoes. One effort that can be done to control pests in cherry tomatoes is to use pesticides. Indonesian farmers often use chemical pesticides as a result of chemical pesticide residues that will harm the environment. Therefore the use of vegetable pesticides is an alternative in controlling environmentally friendly pests. So many types of plant-based pesticides in nature are clove, maja fruit, and Tembelekan leaves. This study aims to determine what types of pesticides and concentrations and how much is appropriate in controlling pests in cherry tomato plants. This research was conducted in January - April 2019 in the backyard of the Muhammadiyah University of Malang. The design used in this experiment is the Divided Plot Design (RPT) consisting of the main plot and sub plot. The main plot in this design is a type of pesticide consisting of 3, namely Clove Leaves, Maja fruits, and Leaves. The subplots in this design are concentrations consisting of 5 namely control (100% water), 25% (25% extract + 75% water), 50% (50% extract + 50% water), 75% (75% extract + 25% water), and 100% (100% extract + 0% water). Based on the results of pest studies found on cherry tomato plants including dome beetles (Epilachna sp.) Both imago and larvae, grayak caterpillars (Spodoptera litura), caterpillars leaf rollers (Lamprosema indicata). In the production yield parameters the number of fruits per plant experienced a significant interaction with the treatment combination. The effectiveness of natural pesticides on the intensity parameters of dome beetle attacks and grayak caterpillar pests tends to be suppressed by using maja fruit extract treatment with a concentration of 100%.
