Abstract

The problem that is often faced by Vespa motorbike users is the difficulty of finding a workshop that truly understands the ways and procedures to repair and maintain this type of motorbike engine and the difficulty in finding suitable spare parts when needed replacement parts. The Vespa is not the same as a Japanese manufacturer's motorbike which is commonly used in Indonesia, for parts that are circulating in the market are very rare and sometimes almost impossible to find in motorcycle parts stores in general, a method is needed to make Vespa users easier when they want to buy a tribe spare, do maintenance and repair. Expert systems on motorcycle vehicles are very helpful in solving a problem that occurs on a motorcycle, an expert system acts like the knowledge of a mechanic wrapped into a program. The expert system provides a diagnosis of damage based on the symptoms inputted by the user, in this study the author will use the forward chaining method on the expert system as an Android-based Vespa type motorbike that aims to provide a diagnosis of damage along with remedial solutions that must be done and information on spare parts that are suitable for these repairs, the benefit of this expert system is to help Vespa motorcycle hobbyists who usually experience difficulties when diagnosing, repairing and determining parts.
